Yes, a good source of pictures for making the votive holders is online or holy cards. You can find many choices online, and as long as you have access to a good quality color printer, this should work well. Otherwise, if you use holy cards, you want ones that aren't too stiff or "cardboard-ish" or laminated because you would have a difficult time decoupaging these onto the holders. Religious books that have color pictures in them could also work--as long as you are willing to cut the pictures out and ruin the book, of course!

For the Catholic votive holders, where do you find pictures? Off the computer, prayer cards? What works best?
Thanks! Great idea! I'm thinking of Confirmation gifts for the youth of the parish. I'm a DRE/Youth Minister so I have a youth group... I could have the youth group kids make a votive candle for each person receiving Confirmation.

Thanks for your question; this sounds like a wonderful project. I think you would have the most luck making nun cookies. I would suggest making a template or using a girl-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookie shape, and then use icing or--even easier--food coloring pens to make the nun's habit and any other details you desire. Go to our "Bakery" page and scroll down to see the girl-shaped cookie cutter and the food coloring pens if you're interested. Good luck and God bless!
